Sometimes you already have just the right piece of furniture and in these environmentally conscious days it feels wrong to replace it - maybe it's a much-loved chest of drawers or a wardrobe which is the perfect shape and size. However it may be worn, shabby, in need of repair or just crying out for a new lease of life. Our painting to order service can help. Using our experience and skills we can transform any piece of furniture - revitalising and re-inventing - all of this without the expense and trouble of buying something new. A newly-painted or restored piece of furniture can transform a room and create a whole new ambience.

Our service 

At quirky DOVETAIL we offer a bespoke painting service for customers' existing furniture and also take on commissions to source and paint particular pieces as required. We offer free consultation and quotation, plus free local pick-up and delivery. All furniture is taken to our secure workshop in South-west London.

Pricing

Prices include quotation, collection, delivery and all materials, paints and waxes. Customers can choose from a range of house-colours. However, if you would prefer a colour we do not stock we are happy to purchase it on your behalf and include this in the quote. On single commissions payment is on completion, when the item is delivered. On larger commissions a deposit of 25% is required.

A guideline to our prices is as follows, however each item will be individually quoted:

Single wardrobe - £195

Dressing table - £195

Pair of bedside cabinets - £150

"Trade Secrets"

Preparation - the difference between a professional finish and an amateur attempt is spending time and care on preparing the piece of furniture. At quirky DOVETAIL all furniture is sanded, cleaned and undercoated twice to ensure a high quality finish.

Choosing the colour - colour is the single most important decision in achieving the desired look. We will use our experience to work with you to select the perfect colour. We stock a beautiful range of paints or we can use a colour of your choice (see below our House Colours). Our preference is to use Farrow and Ball paint because of the quality of the colour depth and the colour palette.  

Styling - we will help you choose the look that best compliments the features of the furniture and the look of your home. Popular decorative effects range from French-style "Shabby Chic", distressing and time-worn antique waxes, to more contemporary natural finishes.
