In our shop in Balham we will always stock a range of stylish upholstered items such as wingback chairs, armchairs, Victorian button-back nursing chairs, dining chairs, and stools.
These are beautifully worked using a range of quality fabrics ranging from simple crisp contemporary creams, to more traditional floral and Toile du Jouy prints and ticking stripe. Some pieces may be covered in quality calico which some customers like as finished - others may choose to use this as a basis for the material of their choice.
Typically a wingback or armchair would cost in the region of £395-£495; a nursing chair around £200; dining chairs £65-£125; small footstools circa £65.
The chair frames range from traditional polished mahogany to painted French-style, and some chairs will be antique, others contemporary.
Re-covering service:
In addition to selling upholstered chairs we also offer a re-covering service for armchairs, dining chairs and stools. At this stage the service does not include full upholstery. We believe it is best for customers to choose their own material and we can advise on how many metres are required. Our service includes free quote and consultation, pick-up and delivery. We can advise on finish including trims, piping, button back or not, how the material will sit on the chair. And we can also paint the frames of chairs to be re-covered to your specification.
Re-covering normally takes 4-6 weeks following collection.
