We blend traditional colours with natural warm woods creating subtle controlled designs with more than a touch of English and French country living. We believe our designs are easy to live with and family friendly, and we value vintage, quirky and contemporary decor accessories to complete the look.

Colours schemes

Our style is based on walls, ceilings and woodwork painted in a beautiful blend of complementary colours.

We use Farrow & Ball paints for their traditional palette of natural colours, with their depth of pigment second to none. Farrow & Ball paint is low odor and eco-friendly.

Our preferred palette is traditional soft whites, subtle creams and pale greys. These create a timeless interior offset by the golden hues of natural wood.

These colours, when carefully chosen and combined create an inviting sense of space in the room. They are classic, timeless and easy on the eye. We will keep your colour schemes on file so you can refer back to them in the future.

Modern, bold wallpapers can be great. However, they make too much of a contemporary style statement for us and we prefer not to use them in our schemes.

This dramatically cuts down on costs for you and creates a more timeless interior. 

 

Furnishings

Re-using and re-inventing existing furniture and soft furnishings wherever possible. If not, we are the ideal people to source new pieces. 

This ensures a cost effective project which is good for your eco-credentials.

Painted furniture is key to our style. We will professionally prepare and paint furniture to the highest standards. 

Painted furniture adds informality and warmth to any room. Our hand-painted, professional finishes ensure robustness and longevity.

Furniture with restored wooden tops and painted bases are one of our most popular looks.

Wooden tops are hard-wearing and beautifully tactile. They give instant warmth and texture to a room.

We highly value natural wood and favour sanded floor-boards - rugs often feature in our designs.

This means that you are doing your bit for the environment by restoring old features. Once done there is very little cost in the future.

Maximising storage is always important in our designs. Giving you uncluttered spaces with a feeling or calm and relaxation.

 

Finishing touches

We love ornate painted feature mirrors. Our designs feature mirrors above fireplaces, sideboards and chest of drawers - typical of Victorian and Edwardian houses.

These give a room focus and maximise natural light. A mirror above a sideboard in a dining area, for example, creates a fantastic display of light and movement at a dinner party. 

No heavy curtains and drapes for us. We favour simple wooden blinds or simple curtains to create a "cleaner" look.

This creates soft informality whilst ensuring privacy and flexibility to play with light and shade. 

Carefully selected soft furnishings such as upholstered chairs, rugs, cushions and throws create depth and interest.Traditional or contemporary, we work with you in mind to reflect your tastes and personality.

We will hand-pick decorative objects to accessorise your room. Seeking out quirky, vintage or contemporary pieces, we especially have a passion for hand crafted details. You set the budget and we will do the hunting.
